Here’s the thing… Alarming Security is mostly a one-man operation. But the one man is owner/operator/installer Jeff Silverman and make no mistake about it, that’s the important part. Many companies can come in and hook up some wires, sign you up for monitoring and be out of your life. But Jeff has always been there as sort of a safety net. “Jeff, I forgot how to set a new code.” “Jeff, the yellow light is blinking.”… Jeff answers his phone, walks you through it and will come take a look at the situation if necessary.

Are his prices reasonable? I’m pretty sure they are… I haven’t really done that much comparison shopping but, again, that is not the important part. The important part is that when my alarm went off the other day (my house was broken into), Jeff called me (he gets notified by the monitoring company) and we discussed what might have happened and whether to cancel the police response and, because he happened to be working minutes away, actually showed up at my doorstep where we looked around at all the broken glass! (For the record, he probably will NOT show up at your house if it’s broken into and he makes no such promises… but that’s how it went down with me last week.)

Don’t get me wrong… there are companies that patrol neighborhoods and will respond to your alarms… but you pay fairly heavily for that service. And it’s always a constantly changing bunch of faces. Jeff is Jeff. And next time you call his company, you know who will answer the phone? Jeff.
